Fees

Costs will vary depending on diagnostic and treatment needs. Hospital and laboratory services are billed separately from physician services. Mercy Medical Center has trained financial counselors available to discuss your individual needs. If you do not have insurance, or will have difficulty in paying your portion of the bill, the counselors can assist you in making payment arrangements, reviewing your eligibility for Mercy's Financial Assistance Program, or in case of hospital admission, referral for public assistance. Patients will receive necessary medical care – the care will never be based on the patient's ability to pay.

Insurance

The IBD Center and Mercy Medical Center Admissions staff will assist patients with filing their insurance. Most insurance programs are accepted. Patients should bring their appropriate insurance ID card, group number and policy number to their first appointment.

Patient appointments can be made by contacting the IBD Center statewide at 866-IBD-IOWA (866-423-4692) or locally at (515) 226-8177. Patient Records

Patients are asked to bring all of their previous records with them to their first appointment, including lab and endoscopy results as well as X-rays. This will help us avoid duplication of tests already completed and save the patient time and expense.
